An Ado Ekiti Customary Court, has dissolved an 11-year-old marriage over Facebook adultery.
The marriage was between a businessman, Muyiwa Owolabi (42) and his wife, Tinuola (40).
Following suspicion that his wife was having illicit affairs through
Facebook messages, Muyiwa had filed a petition at the court accusing the
respondent of serial adultery and sexual escapades, tendering evidence
to substantiate his claim.
In his judgment, court president, Joseph Ogunsemi, held that from the
available evidence before the jury and the fact that both parties are
living apart, the union has broken down irretrievably.
