A
lovestruck actress who wanted her ex-boyfriend back devised a most
dubious means to win his heart back but it all went way wrong.
Jessica Lind
A jilted lover wanted her boyfriend back by all means that she did
what she knew how to do best - act! Jessica Lind who is an actress
cooked a plan to persuade herex-boyfriend, Jonathan Gray to come back to
her by sending him a chilling message which read: "Let the games begin, find Jess."
Afraid that Jessica might have been kidnapped, Jonathan alerted
police who went on a manhunt for the Kidnapper. Police rescued Jessica
in the back of her car in a layby and arrested John Hodgson who Jessica
alleged kidnapped her after he approached her in a coffee shop. Jessica
insisted she was held against her will by the stalker for three hours.
Police arrested Hodgson who spent 15 hours in custody while investigation was ongoing, although he claimed he was innocent.
After a little time passed, cops were stunned when Jessica
confessed she’d made the whole thing up and had driven herself to
Soberton, Hants where she was found. She said in a second cop interview:
"I just want Johnny back in my life and thought he would be able
there to look after me because he thought someone was going to hurt me.
"It got worse and worse and I didn't know how to end it."
Jessica Lind of Romsey – who's performed in a number of plays –
admitted perverting the course of justice at Southampton crown
court. But Judge Nicholas Rowland gave her a four month jail term
suspended for two years for wasting police time. He also ordered her to
do 120 hours unpaid work.
Judge Rowland said: "You became extremely depressed and
suicidal which led you to behave in a way that was out of character
which had consequences not just for you and your boyfriend but the wider
public.
"Mr Hodgson was held for 15 hours and his freedom taken away as
a result of what you did while 250 hours of police time was wasted when
they had better things to do.
"People who do that expect to go to prison. It's a close shave for you."
