Gunmen Kidnap Ijaw Music Maestro

The Bayelsa Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of a popular musician in the Niger Delta, Pereama Freetom at Polako community of Bayelsa state.

According to Police spokesman, Asinim Butswat, the Owigiri musician was kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday.   "On November 15, 2015, at about 0300hrs, some unknown gunmen invaded  Polako Community in Yenagoa LGA, and abducted one Pereama Freetown, a popular musician."
ASP Butswat added that the armed bandits killed one person as they shot sporadically into the air, "while escaping with the victim, the unknown gunmen shot sporadically killing a 37 years old man, Ebikabowei Umbu. They escaped through the Polako river to an unknown destination. The Marine Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit and Operation Pulo Shield have swung into action in search of the victim and possible arrest of the suspects".
