1. China was one of the biggest supporters of Zimbabwe's struggle for #independence against British colonial rule in 1980. And it was the first country to establish diplomatic ties with the country.
2. Remember the Look East Policy adopted by Zimbabwe after Western countries' #sanctions on the country? Here's China's rescue to it by its president formally visiting the country.
3. China is the African country's biggest #trade partner!
Trade statistics between the two countries peak at nearly $1,2 billion between January and November last year compared to $1,1 billion for the whole of 2013. And let's not forget the visit by Zimbabwe's President Mugabe was also in last year who signed a number of mega deals with his Chinese counterpart.
4. It has been assured by both sides that "agreements will be signed, especially in the areas of #infrastructure, agriculture and transport(high-speed train?)." So that's something we could keep an eye on and look forward to.
