Me self i'am tired for very long time
ME SEF I'AM TIRED!
I saw a status update from my friend Harry Slim Omoakhia a couple of days ago. It simply said: "I am tired!" He didn't know it but he reflected my mind so entirely. Me sef, I'm tired!
With the cascade of news (information overload, actually) and the type of responses one sees on social and conventional media, clearly, a dangerously high number of us have accepted lies in place of truth, have agreed to be deceived and have submitted their heads to be brainwashed. It's so sad to see otherwise honest people become willing participants in the plan to decieve them.
And to such a people, only God's intervention can make any difference. Yes, I surrender their mental emancipation to God alone. There's something called congenital chronic unteachability which only divine miracle can correct.
Let's continue the farce we call politics in Nigeria where basic morals, ethics, justice and plain good conscience are only fleetingly mentioned on Fridays and Sundays. Let's see where it gets us. For me, I've already girded and armoured my heart with plates of steely cynicism. I only pity my country. Falsehood and deceit NEVER changed anything, let's see how Nigeria can be different.
