A Tennessee church treasurer reported to prison this week for stealing over $400,000 from a Knoxville church.

reports Dimitri Christodoulou stole the money from Saint George Greek
Orthodox Church during his time as treasurer from December 2010 to
February 2015. The church treasurer wrote himself checks from accounts
that were unauthorized by the church.
Charisma News reports Christodoulou must now pay the stolen money back. He still owes over $200,000.
His attorney said, "He's moving heaven and earth to pay it back."
Christodoulou was handed a 10-year sentence. The first year will be spent in prison. After that, he will be on probation.
Defense attorney Charme Allen said, "One of our main concerns as
prosecutors is to make sure the victims of crime are made whole again.
Under the terms of this agreement, we made sure Christodoulou will serve
time in custody for his crime and will be supervised upon his release.
Most importantly, we have retained jurisdiction over the case to make
sure Christodoulou pays his restitution and the church is made whole."
