Steve Carter Steve Carter was adopted from an orphanage when he was four and lived a happy life with his adoptive family. He had no reason to search for his biological family, saying that he didn't care where else he came from. But he had some questions about his past that had bothered him throughout the years, like how and why he ended up in an orphanage in Hawaii at six months old. When Steve was a child, his adoptive parents kept his name on a registry for reconnecting adopted children with their birth families. His mother, Victoria Carter, told "The Central Record": "When Steve turned 18, we asked him if he wished to continue registering on the site and he declined."
