Muhammadu Dikko, the ninth emir of kastina

Muhammadu Dikko, the ninth emir of kastina...admiring the wonder of a traffic light. In Hyde park , London 1933. I can only imagine how many cars we have in Nigeria as at then not to talk of tarred roads..."who dash monkey traffic light"
One of the two little boys in the picture happened to be his 5 yearold grand son Muhammadu Kabir Usman (born January 1928), he latter became the 11th emir of kastina and reigned until 2006 and the other one happened to be ... Hassan Katsina (who died 24 July 1995) was a Nigerian Army Major General. He was governor of the Northern Region of Nigeria from 1966 to 1967. During the Nigerian civil war...the time when Igbos were gruesomely killed and maimed in the north... he was the Chief of Staff, Army and later became the deputy Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters under the administration of General Yakubu Gowon...
On this same trip, they visited the Reads Biscuit factory,...it was recorded that they refused eating the biscuits when it was offered to them...because religion did not permit them to eat in public.
