The foster father of former president, Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Inengite Nitabai, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen

Chief Inengite Nitabai, Goodluck Jonathan’s foster father
72 year old Chief Nitabai who happens to
be the uncle of the former president was abducted today, Wednesday,
February 17 by armed men at his residence in Otuoke in Ogbia local
government area of Bayelsa state.
He was said to have been whisked away by
seven heavily armed men. The septuagenarian was also kidnapped about
two years ago by four gunmen. Police spokesman in the state, Asinim
Butswat, confirmed the abduction.
The spate of kidnapping for ransom is
fast becoming a major crime in Nigeria with the abduction of Chief Olu
Falae by Fulani herdsmen making national headline. He was later released
after ransom was paid.
