The Rev. Franklin Graham said that he spent Valentine’s Day with his father, the Rev. Billy Graham, and that the two talked about Graham’s love for his late wife, Ruth.
Christian Today reports that Graham shared on his Facebook page
that “It was good to visit my father Billy Graham yesterday at his home
in Montreat, NC," Franklin writes on his Facebook page. "One thing's
for sure, at 97 years old and almost nine years after her death, my
father still misses my mother —his Valentine — more than words can say.
They were married for nearly 64 years!"
Graham shared that his father still misses Ruth every day, but looks forward to seeing her again in heaven.
"The good news is, he confidently looks forward to seeing my mother
again in Heaven someday soon. That confidence of eternity in Heaven is
something we all can have if we have surrendered our lives to Jesus
Christ and received Him by faith as our Savior and Lord.”
Graham then shared Philippians 3:20-21 which reads, "But our
citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus
Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body,
by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself."
Graham also voiced his thankfulness for his parents’ example of a loving, Christ-centered marriage.
