The scene of the crash
The six Catholic Seminarians of St Joseph Paris, Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa
Ibom state, on Monday, lost their lives in a fatal auto crash.
According to Daily Post, the Seminarians, who were 16 on board
their missionary vehicle, were on their way to Community Encounter
programme in Enugu state from Ikot-Ekpene when the ill-fated incident
happened.
A source revealed that the driver was on top speed when one of the
rear tyres burst. He said the driver lost control and the bus
somersaulted, leaving six of them in the pool of their blood.
One of those killed was identified simply as Emmy, believed to be
in his late 20’s, and another, Dozie whom a source described as the
future hope of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Okofia Otolo, Nnewi,
Anambra state.
The 10 survivors are now receiving treatment in an undisclosed
hospital, while the deceased have since been deposited at the morgue.
As at press time, all efforts to reach the Enugu high-way command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, were abortive.
