How Fayose Made Me PDP Chairman - Sheriff Reveals

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ali Modu Sheriff, on Thursday revealed that Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose made him PDP Chairman.

He made the revelation while speaking at the PDP’s secretariat in Ekiti with the governor in attendance.

He said, “I never planned to be the PDP Chairman but God used people like Fayose and other Nigerians to make me the chairman (of the party).

“I was sleeping in my room when Fayose called me from Port Harcourt and said I was going to be the new National Chairman. For me, it was a miracle.

“God chose Fayose for Ekiti people because of his popularity in the state. He was taken to the prison and eight years after, he came back. People won’t be happy with the governor if he has not been fair to them.”

While speaking about Sheriff's emergence, Fayose said he gave his support for Sheriff because he has the capacity to bring new things and ideas to the party.

He said, “We know you have the capacity to restore the PDP and make it survive.

“You have the means and experience and we promise that we will always stand by you.”
