Josh Duggar has completed his rehab program and is now back with his family in Arkansas.
Christian Today reports that Josh returned from the Reformers Unamimous
facility in Illinois where he completed a nearly six-month program for
his addiction to pornography after it was revealed last summer that he
had sexually abused his sisters and a female friend when he was a
teenager and also that he had an account with adultery website Ashley
Madison while he was married to his wife, Anna.
Duggar patriarch and matriarch Jim Bob and Michelle issued a statement
on their website: "Josh has completed his residential rehabilitation
program. We are so thankful for everyone who worked with Josh in this
program. It was a crucial first step in recovery and healing for Josh."
The Duggar couple also said that Josh will continue to undergo steps to
deal with his porn addiction and to restore family relationships.
“Josh has now returned to Arkansas, where he will continue professional
counselling and focus on rebuilding relationships with his family. We
look to God for help and guidance and place all of our trust in Him. We
are forever grateful for the love and prayers offered by so many and
hope you will continue to pray in the days ahead," they said.
The news of Josh’s return home coincided with the Duggars’ preparation
for their new show “Jill and Jessa: Counting On,” which will premiere on
March 15. The new show will feature Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa
Duggar Seewald and their new life experiences.
