One dies as another building collapses in Lagos

Barely two weeks after a five-storey building under construction in the Lekki area of Lagos collapsed killing 34, another storey building has caved in, killing a 47-year-old woman.
New Telegraph learnt that prior to the partial collapse of the structure around 8:30am on Saturday the building had shown signs of distress as some portions of the balcony had cracked.
The tragic incident occurred at No 9 Alli Close, Mile 12 when the balcony of the ill-fated storey building collapsed on the woman, whose name could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
Speaking on the incident, General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Mr Michael Akindele assured that full scale investigation as to the actual cause would be carried out by relevant government agencies.
