Pastor shot Four Times in Idaho church parking lot

 

Police said church pastor Tim Remington was shot several times in the parking lot of the Altar Church on Sunday, March 6, 2016, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Police were searching for a suspect who shot a man in the parking lot of an Idaho church Sunday afternoon, CBS affiliate KREM reported.
Police were called to the Altar Church just before 2 p.m. Sunday and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A family member told KREM the victim is Tim Remington, a pastor at the church.
Remington's nephew Matthew and fellow church members said Remington was shot four times in the back while walking to his car. The nephew said Remington was alive and was talking to EMS workers on his way to Kootenai Medical Center.
Authorities did not specify Remington's condition.
Church members said Remington has been the head of the Altar Church for more than a decade. Many of them gathered Sunday near the shooting scene to pray for not only Remington, but also for the gunman.

On Saturday, Remington led a prayer during Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz's rally at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds, family members said.
"We just want to be here for everyone in our congregation. Be here for our pastor. We are going to go to the hospital and wait for the word to make sure he is okay," said one church member.
"He opens his home to people. He takes them in and lets them live in his home," another church member said. "All the people society has turned their backs on, he goes out and he reaches out to them."
Police said the suspect fled the scene before they got there and has not been located.
