Professor Nicholas Goddard
A distinguished professor has been dramatically suspended after more than two decades of unblemished service for involving in pornography, as an internal investigation is already under way into his 'extra-curricular' activities.
To the disbelief of students , not to mention the staff, Professor Nicholas Goddard had been exposed as Britain's most unlikely porn star.
On campus, he may have epitomised the popular stereotype of a university boffin, but off-campus he appeared in explicit blue movies (often wearing nothing more than a gold watch) alongside 'Teen Monique', 'Blonde Lexi', 'Busty Lolly' and 'Geeky Carolina'.
Professor Goddard used the screen name 'Old Nick' for the films, which are distributed online.
While his academic papers — all 124 are available on the internet — have 2,000 'likes', his X-rated videos have been watched millions of times.
So how did his second career cavorting with girls 40 years his junior come to light? Professor Goddard's double life had, in fact, been common knowledge among some of his students, if not the university authorities, for some time.

Then, last week, someone emailed The Sun newspaper with details of his antics.
One student gave a colourful account online of the moment he learned that Professor Goddard was not quite the man he seemed.
'The day I found out, I was doing the afternoon ritual of mine [watching pornography], when I suddenly came across a strange video,' he wrote. 'It seemed like an ordinary clip, except the guy appeared to resemble Nick [Professor Goddard], similar build and hair.
'The first disturbing sign of confirmation was the oddly recognisable voice. Then I saw the video's title, 'Busty teen Lolly ***** Old Nick outdoors'.
'But the realisation came when I noticed all his distinct mannerisms and gestures. It was Nick. For the first few minutes, I couldn't believe my eyes, the very idea was disturbing. I had to show it to somebody, to prove it wasn't my mind playing tricks.' It wasn't.
Professor Goddard, who lives in a new-build terrace in Manchester, politely declined to comment when we called there this week.

He had told The Sun he began starring in x-rated films to relieve the stress of his divorce.
'Sometimes, you do things that you regret later while under stress. But I've given it up since January. It's too much for me now. What I do in my private life is my business, not the university's.
'I don't get paid much [for the porn work], mainly travel expenses.
'There is such hypocrisy with people watching porn then complaining about those who act in it.
'Why would students and staff be happy to watch it, but unhappy when they see who stars in them? Especially as I know that, on evenings and weekends, 75 per cent of web traffic on the university's server is accessing porn.'
Professor Nicholas Goddard, aged 61 teaches in Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science at Manchester University.
At the time of writing, the university had not responded to that allegation
