Josh Duggar and his wife, Anna, were spotted together while they were shopping, which has sparked rumors of the couple’s reconciliation.
It came out last summer that Josh Duggar, the eldest son of the large
Duggar clan who formerly starred on the TLC series “19 Kids and
Counting, had molested five girls, four of which were his sisters, when
he was a teenager. Shortly after this scandal broke, news came out that
Josh had an account with adultery website Ashley Madison.
Josh went to rehab to deal with his sexual addiction at the Reformers
Unanimous rehab facility in Rockford, Illinois. He has since completed his rehab and returned back home to his family in Arkansas.
The couple’s furniture shopping trip was the first time they had been
seen together since Josh’s return from rehab. Although the Duggar family
is seeking to restore relationships between Josh and the rest of the
family, Christian Today reports that Josh did not join the family for
their Easter celebration.
"The Duggars spent Easter as a family. There was lots of food and fun.
Members of the family were hanging out for hours. Josh was not around.
The family is doing well and just focusing on themselves."
Josh’s brother, John-David, told Good Morning America that the Devil
was trying to take down his family, but through all the trials of the
scandal, their faith has been increased.
"He tried to take our whole family down, but God has really used this
to—instead of tearing us apart as a family, he's using it to draw us
together, so for us, we've forgiven, and we're moving on, and we're
looking to the future," he said.
Although the Duggar family seems to have welcomed Josh back into their
lives, the public appears less ready to extend forgiveness. Christian
Today notes that several companies have decided to pull their ads from
the Duggars' new show “Jill and Jessa: Counting On,” because they do not
want to be associated with the family.
