Majek Fashek speaking during the event
Legendary Nigerian reggae singer and guitarist, Majekodunmi
Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek, has fired hot shots at former
president, Goodluck Jonathan at a public event.
At the AY Live comedy comedy concert held on Easter Sunday on March
27th, the embattled Reggae music veteran got on stage and delivered a
great performance wherein he performed some Reggae classics and got the
crowd cheering.
After his performance, he shocked his audience with rants about
politics which left many in awe especially because he took ex-president,
Goodluck Jonathan to the cleaners and also stated that Nigeria’s major
problem is poverty and not corruption.
The Benin-born musician stated: "We can’t be smiling when
poverty has taken [over the] Nigerian land. It’s not good. But Buhari
said corruption, it’s not corruption, it’s poverty. It has to be
explained correctly.
"Our problem, [the] Nigerian problem is poverty. The only way
Nigeria can rise like America is they must support the poor people.
"Thank you very much. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery.
We have no choice, Buhari done old, we have to support the General, I’m a
General, a General will recognize a General. We give Goodluck chance,
he mess it up. God punish him father."
