Bastian Schweinsteiger looks barely recognisable in a suit of armour during a commercial for 'Clash of Kings'
He had his season curtailed by injury, but Bastian Schweinsteiger
has shown he is in no way ready to give up the fight on his Manchester
United career after starring in a games console advert.
The German captain has not featured for Louis van Gaal's side since
March 20, but he was named on Tuesday in Joachim Low's squad for Euro
2016.
Having endured an injury-interrupted first season at Old Trafford,
Schweinsteiger looks unperturbed by his on-field woes as he leads his
knights into battle in a promotional video for the latest installment of 'Clash of Kings'.
The 2014 World Cup winner shows his competitive streak in his quest
for another victory with the former Bayern Munich midfielder revealing
the 'scars' of battle at the start of the video - shot in Manchester by DCMN as he is enrobed in armour.
'There is a war going on. A new threat overshadows the country. It is time to go to combat because this is my kingdom,' says the storyteller.
As 'King Bastian' - sporting a thick goatee beard, has his
crown placed on his head, he emerges from his tent with each knight
bowing to him before they are lead into battle.
'These are my men, my soldiers, my people,' he says.
'All of them are willing to die for their king. Our hearts beat for the
fight. Our swords request blood. This world is a battlefield and I am
its ruler.'
Having drawn his sword, however, Schweinsteiger is brought back to
reality by the sound of a lawn mower in the centre circle of a football
pitch and he is seen playing the game on his smartphone.
