City Harvest Church pastor Kong Hee has been preaching at revival meetings in Southeast Asia despite being involved in a church scandal at City Harvest Church in the Philippines.
According to The Christian Post, Kong and his wife, popstar Sun Ho, who
is also a pastor at City Harvest Church, have been holding revival
events and reported seeing many turn to the Lord.
"From 10-11 June, 2016, CHC held its second-ever Global Chinese
Leadership Seminar, and this time, over a 24-hour period. More than
1,100 pastors, church workers and leaders from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong,
Malaysia and Singapore joined us for this very special event," Kong
wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Kong added that he and Sun were “deeply stirred in our spirits throughout that weekend.”
Kong also commented on the growth of Christianity in China, despite the persecution many Christians face there.
"According to some reports, China will have more Christians than the
U.S.A. by 2030. Let us arise and be His laborers for the plentiful
harvest.”
Although still active in ministry, Kong, along with other City Harvest
Church leaders, were sentenced to serve an eight-year prison sentence
for using church funds to further Sun’s singing career. Sun and the
majority of City Harvest Church members have continued to support Kong
and the other leaders who plan to appeal the court’s verdict.
