Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has released a list of Christian leaders who will be on Trump’s evangelical advisory board.
According to Politico.com, the list includes 25 well-known Christian leaders, from pastors to authors to politicians.
“I have such tremendous respect and admiration for this group and I
look forward to continuing to talk about the issues important to
Evangelicals, and all Americans, and the common sense solutions I will
implement when I am President," Trump said of the newly-assembled board
in a statement.
Trump’s campaign said that those on the advisory board haven’t
necessarily endorsed Trump, nor is their endorsement mandatory for being
on the board.
Instead, the campaign noted that the diverse list of Christian leaders
represents "Donald J. Trump’s endorsement of those diverse issues
important to Evangelicals and other Christians, and his desire to have
access to the wise counsel of such leaders as needed."
Some names included on Trump’s evangelical advisory board include
former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, former Southern Baptist
Convention leader Rnnie Floyd, Pastor David Jeremiah, Pastor Robert
Jeffress, and Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr.
