2 Dead, 20 Injured as Rival Cult Groups Go on Rampage in Ondo

 
Hell was let loose yesterday in Ondo town when a clash among youths left two people dead and 20 persons injured, according to the Daily Sun.
 
The clash which occurred during a carnival organised by some youths in Kogbona area of the community, also led to pandemonium in the town.

Security men were said to be helpless when the crisis broke out, leading to a free-for-all.
 
A source said two rival cult groups had earlier engaged in a fight before the carnival commenced. There was tension over the killing, as many youths protested.
 
One of the dead, who was identified as Afusat Ayodeji, was the alleged leader of a cult group in the town, while the identity of the other victim was unknown.
 
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Enuowa, Mr Kunle Omisakin, a Chief Superintendent, confirmed the arrest of two persons.
 
He said the matter has been transferred to the headquarters of the state police command in Akure.
