Christian singer Natalie Grant recently shared that her nephew who had been a heroin addict has come to faith in Christ, according to ChristianToday.com.
In a Facebook post
Grant shares with her fans the “heartbreaking journey” her family has
been on to help her nephew Christian and to tell him about Jesus.
Christian is currently serving time in prison, and Grant and her sister
Jennifer recently visited him there. He has been drug-free for 20
months.
"I got to hear about the hope and comfort he's found in Jesus. I also
got to hear how hard it is, how lonely he feels and the regret he
carries. It was joy and sorrow, happiness and pain, smiles and tears,"
she writes.
Although Christian still has a couple more years to serve in prison,
Grant says she is encouraged to see that he is taking responsibility for
his actions and is seeking to grow in his faith.
Grant told her followers that Jesus’ love and grace can change anyone’s
life for the better. "He receives, redeems and restores. And when He
looks at us he doesn't see what we've done, he sees who we are: His
children,” she said.
She also reminded fans that those who belong to Christ are not defined by what they have done:
"So many of you are defining yourselves by past mistakes and shame. But
only let His grace define you. Tell yourself the truth - not the truth
of what you've done, but the truth of what HE'S done for you. You are
who HE says you are. Period," she said.
