Good Lord! 8 Children Dead After Train and School Van Collide in Broad Daylight

Up to about eight children have been killed when their school van was hit by a passenger train in the morning.

The incident occurred in Northern India.

The Indian police revealed that the accident took place at an unmanned crossing.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Satyendra Yadav, Area Police Chief, said that the accident took place on Monday in Uttar Pradesh state’s Bhadohi district.

“Eight children between ages of six to 14 died while the driver and 10 more were hospitalised with injuries.

“Such was the impact of the collision that the van was thrown up in the air and landed in farms nearby,” he said.

Yadav said police preliminary investigation showed that the accident occurred as the driver tried to cross the track in spite the warnings of the train passing through.

Report says India has a number of unmanned rail crossings, and such accidents are common.
