Nigerian Lawmaker's Wife Gets Kidnapped in Ogun...See Details

One Felicia, the wife of Olufowobi Oyenuga, the lawmaker representing Ijebu East state constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, was kidnapped yesterday.
 
The lawmaker-husband of the victim, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Establishment, was said to have been contacted by the kidnappers, demanding N25 million ransom.
 
According to Vanguard, it was reliably gathered that Felicia was said to have been kidnapped around 10a.m. at Odoladalepo in Ijebu Ife shortly after her son dropped her off in front of their farm.
 
It was, however, learned that nemesis caught up with the driver of the gang, Ahmed Folorunso, who was arrested along Ondo Road in Ijebu Ode. 
 
An eyewitness revealed that a vigilante group in Ijebu Ife and police patrol team reportedly went after the gang and eventually caught up with Folorunso, who drove the gang’s operational vehicle with number plates EPE 663 AJ. 
 
However, other members of the gang reportedly fled with their victim. Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said one of the suspects had been arrested and is already in police custody. 
 
He said: “We got a report that a woman was kidnapped this morning at Ijebu Ife. We learned that some members of the state vigilante service in the area gave the kidnappers a chase. 
 
“Another police patrol team was detailed to join them in the pursuit. They caught up with one of the members of the gang, Ahmed Folorunso, at Ijebu Ode, in their operational vehicle. 
 
“The suspect is already in our custody. We are optimistic; we will rescue the woman very soon. We are doing the needful to ensure the victim is rescued and other fleeing members of the kidnap gang arrested.”
