The presidential senior special assistant on media and publicity,
Garba Shehu, has said that the life of every single Nigerian matters to
the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government, despite recent
attacks by suspected herdsmen which has left many dead and homeless in
Benue and Enugu states.
Recall that in the past week, President Buhari’s government has
been roundly criticised for not being proactive on several attacks by
herdmen, and militants in parts of the country with respect to prompt
release of statements and visitations to the affected states to speak
with the victms
Advocacy group, BringBackOurGirls, whose leaders - Aisha Yesufu and
Oby Ezekwesili, have expressed their displeasure with the handling of
the rescue of the abducted Chibok girls in their various social media
posts, and have also reminded the president of his 'pledge to give justice of rescue to the Chibok gilrs'.
While responding to all the various criticisms, Garba Shehu took to his Facebook page on Tuesday and wrote:
“The life of every single Nigerian matters to this government and the
security agencies, under the command of President Buhari, will continue
to exert all its powers to ensure that every Nigerian is safe from the
brutality of terrorists and terrorism.”
Immediately he wrote the above, Nigerians attacked him with their
comments of displeasure with the ways things are being handled in the
recent happenings in the country.
