Saraki Reshuffles Senate Committees, Gives Juiciy Posts to Marafa, Tinubu

The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki on Thursday reshuffled the leadership of the Senate committees as he gives juicy posts to his most outspoken critic, Kabiru Marafa and Oluremi Tinubu.
 
 
Marafa is now appointed the chairman of the Petroleum (downstream) Committee from his former post as the chairman of the Committee on National Population while Oluremi Tinubu, another member not totally in support of Saraki. Tinubu will now head the Committee on Environment. She had previously headed the Committtee on Women Affairs.
 
Suleiman Hukunyi, another critic of the senate president, is now in charge of the Committee on National Identity.
 
According to a PremiumTimes report, the re-composition of the Senate committees was one of the conditions put forward by Unity Forum Senators for peace to return to the troubled assembly.
