Sons of Liberty International (SOLI) has been training local Iraqi
soldiers to fight ISIS. Recently, SOLI soldiers fought alongside Iraqi
Assyrian Christian forces to take back the city of Teleskof, Iraq.
According to TheBlaze.com, ISIS’ attack against Teleskof is their
boldest attack in recent months, although it has not been widely
reported on.
ISIS militants launched a surprise attack against the city around dawn
on May 3, 2016. A SOLI soldier, who is in a truck with other fighters,
records the scene. As he does so, a bullet hits the truck, not far from
his head.
The Blaze reports that the SOLI forces, along with the Iraqi Assyrian
Christian soldiers, go on to take the city of Teleskof back from ISIS
after 10 hours of fighting. Sadly, a brave Navy SEAL, Charles Keating
IV, lost his life in the battle.
The battle at Teleskof was the first opportunity the trainees had to
see action, and they reportedly were very successful, even being able to
recapture the territory which ISIS had overtaken.
SOLI forces rely entirely on donations from supporters to equip them to
train local forces to combat ISIS and to supply their trainees with
weapons. They hope to continue to be able to train local forces to
defeat ISIS and free their homeland.
