Speaking shortly before the house adjourned its Wednesday sitting,
speaker of the federal house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has
announced the replacement of the chairman, house committee on
appropriation.
Dogara informed his colleagues that the house leadership had taken
the decision to replace Abdulmumin Jibrin who represents Bebeji/Kiru
federal constituency, as chairman of the committee.
According to TheCable News,
the sacked lawmaker has been replaced with Mustapha Dawaki Bala, who
represents Kudu/Warawa federal constituency of Kano state.
“He met me and said he does not think he would continue as the committee chairman due to pressure of the work," Dogara said, adding that the decision to remove him had already been taken.
The sacked Jibrin grew unpopular with his colleagues when he was
accused of voting about N4 billion for projects in his constituency
alone.
