No less than six persons were killed in an auto crash on Monday night in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
According to Daily Post, the accident occurred at about 7.35pm in front of the main gate of Ekiti State University (EKSU).
Police spokesperson, Alberto Adeyemi, stated that officers at the
scene confirmed that five bodies were conveyed to the mortuary of Ekiti
State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).
A witness said the accident was caused by some boys suspected to be Internet fraudsters, otherwise known as “Yahoo boys”, who were driving on a high speed at the busy junction.
He said some “Yahoo boys” crashed their car into a mini-commercial vehicle conveying students from the campus.
“The yahoo-yahoo boys must have been heavily drunk and they drove carelessly and collided with the commercial bus.
“Six people died on the spot and one of them is hanging between
life and death now. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officers have
taken the corpse of the dead to the morgue”, the witness disclosed.
The state governor, Ayodele Fayose has already visited the dead and injured in the hospital and has also called on the prayers for the souls of the deseased.
