Alice Kathambi
A young woman is recuperating at the Meru Teaching and Referral
Hospital after her husband brutally attacked her and cut off one of her
hands over alleged cheating allegations.
The man is said to have been fighting her for a long time before the tragic incident.
The left hand of the 30-year-old woman identified as Alice Kathambi
was allegedly chopped off by her husband, who went further to cut her
in the face before escaping.
According to eDaily,
Kathambi narrated her shocking story at the health facility’s surgical
ward how her husband traced her to her parents’ home in Mbirikene
village in Imenti North of Kenya where she had sought asylum upon
suspecting that the man would harm her following a series of domestic
wrangles that had rocked their union.
During the ordeal, a thumb on her right hand was completely cut
off. Speaking to eDaily, nursing officer in charge of the surgical
department at the health facility, Consolata Kirigia, said Ms Kathambi
was responding well to treatment. The woman has left the case for the
police as she begs for justice.
