Lagos State Govt. Threatens to Arrest Traditional Rulers & Relatives...Find Out Why

In a statement issued by Adebayo Taofiq, Head, Public Affairs of the Lagos State Environmental Task Force on Sunday, the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led Lagos State Government has warned traditional rulers and their relations against indiscriminate use of fake vehicle number plate.
 
The statement which was made available to newsmen on Sunday, warned that anyone caught using fake number plates would be arrested and charged to court.
 
It read in part:
 
“It observed that traditional chiefs and their relations use vehicles with different fake special number plates which contravene the Lagos State Road Traffic Laws of 2012.

“Investigations revealed that most of these council chiefs and their relations have special fake vehicles number plates being used to commit environmental and other crimes in the state.

“The government urged traditional rulers to check the excesses of their chiefs and relations within their domains by ensuring that all their vehicles with special traditional number plates are registered.’’
