Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has signed a pledge saying that, if elected, he will support efforts to stop the pornography epidemic.
According to RelevantMagazine.com, Trump signed the pledge from an anti-porn organization called Enough Is Enough whose mission statement says it aims to “Make the Internet Safer for Children and Families.”
The pledge signed by Trump, called the “Children’s Internet Safety
Presidential Pledge,” concentrates especially on stopping the impact
porn is having on the younger generation.
One of the action steps Enough Is Enough advocates for is imposing
“internet obscenity laws.” The organization also aims to bring to the
nation’s attention that porn is a “growing public health issue,” and
that it is “deforming the sexual development of younger viewers.”
Some have pointed out the discrepancies of Trump’s signing this pledge since he has appeared on the cover of Playboy
magazine. In addition, his wife Melania has appeared in nude
photoshoots when she worked as a model in the mid-90’s, although this
was before she married Trump.
Enough Is Enough noted that while Democratic presidential candidate
Hillary Clinton does support the work the organization is doing, she did
not sign the pledge due to a campaign policy.
