We are tagged as idol worshippers, but truth be told we are not idol
worshippers. Our traditions give all the glory, adoration and honor to
the almighty God which we know as Olodumare. #OoniofIfe
Following the massive backlash he got some weeks ago after saying
that Jesus Christ is his father, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Babatunde
Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has once again given his critics a lot to discuss and
fuel speculations over his religious faith.
The influential monarch who was pictured in his white traditional
ceremonial dress with his messengers, took to his social media page to
clear the air on traditional worship.
In a new post released on his Instagram page, the Ooni noted that
people tagged as idol worshippers are expressing their love, adoration
and respect to the Almighty God.
"We are tagged as idol worshippers, but truth be told we are
not idol worshippers. Our traditions give all the glory, adoration and
honor to the almighty God which we know as Olodumare. #OoniofIfe," he wrote.
