President Muhammadu Buhari, has today, August 12, met with ex-Super
Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, who joined a delegation of Ogoni elders
led by G.N.K. Gininwa, the monarch of Gbenemene Tai Kingdom, who paid a
courtesy call on the president.
Also in the delegation to the presidency were; HRM King (Dr) W.S.
Joshua Igbugburu X, CON (JP) Ibenanawei of Borno Kingdom, Pioneer
Chairman Bayelsa Council of Traditional Rulers and HRM King G.N.K.
Gininwa (JP) OFR, who visited the president at the presidential villa in
Abuja on Friday.
Speaking after the meeting with the Niger Delta delegation in Aso Rock, President Buhari said; "Our commitment to cleaning, securing and empowering the Niger Delta is genuine. We made a promise, we will fulfill it," he wrote on Twitter.
Yobo also retweeted the president's tweet saying, "Thanks for receiving us Mr. President & the #NDCleanup. You probably forgot I'm now 'Chief' ;-)."
Football star, Yobo, an indigene of Rivers State, currently serves
as the senior special assistant on sports to Governor Nyesom Wike, of
Rivers state.
