​I have said many times how far Leicester City have come in such a short time, and it was demonstrated this week with the club-record signing of Islam Slimani, writes Alan Birchenall in his column.
The club went out and smashed its transfer record to bring in the Algeria striker.
I am sure Riyad Mahrez played his part in selling the club to his international team-mate.
I have to put my hand on my heart and admit I didn't know too much about Islam at first, but I have heard nothing but good things about him down the training ground this week.
