Texas Christian University is under fire for offering students credit
for completing an internship with Planned Parenthood. According to The Christian Post,
an email was sent to history students at the university, offering an
opportunity to work with archived documents for the Planned Parenthood
of Greater Texas.
The email read, "Their office, on John Ryan Drive about 15 minutes from
campus, has a substantial archival collection of photographs,
scrapbooks, and other materials. There are also opportunities for oral
history, interviewing local families who have long been involved in
support of PP."
Pro-life campus activist group Students of Life of America was
disturbed to learn that the internship was being offered at the
Christian university. President of the group Kristan Hawkins, said that
"it is a disgrace for a large Christian university to offer credit for
an internship at the largest abortion provider in the nation."
A TCU spokesperson defended the internship, saying that the university
does not align itself with political statements made by the
organizations its interns partner with.
