A man has been stabbed with a broken bottle and bled to death as chaos erupted at Bees restaurant on Ire Akari Estate in the Isolo area of Lagos State, when some customers clashed resulting in the tragic death.

According to a report by Punch Metro, some policemen from the Isolo division later went to the scene to remove the corpse of the victim who was stabbed in the chest on Sunday at about 8.30pm when customers had come to recline at the restaurant.

Investigation however revealed that an argument had ensued between the victim, whose name had yet to be ascertained, and another customer, leading to a free-for-all. He was killed in the process while two others were injured.

Speaking to a correspondent, a police source said the operatives had yet to ascertain what led to the fight, adding that preliminary investigation showed that some of the customers were drunk.

“Anti-crime patrol policemen mobilised to the scene and a man was seen lying down in a pool of blood. He was subsequently rushed to a hospital, where he died,” he said.

It was gathered that the management of the restaurant, who were invited by the police, denied that the fight occurred on their premises.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation was ongoing.

“The owner of the bar is undergoing interrogation with the command. Although he denied that the fracas happened inside his bar, the police are investigating to find out what actually transpired,” she said.
