A man has left many in shock after he used a machete to butcher his
wife in a bid to cover his tracks after she caught him with another
woman. It was gathered that the man's intention was to kill the woman
but she escaped alive.
The middle-aged woman is now on admission at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.
According to eDaily,
Loise Wanjiku of Kahuho Village in Bahati Constituency, Nakuru County
of Kenya, was attacked by her husband after she caught him in the act
with another woman.
Ms Wanjiku had separated with her husband three months ago after a protracted domestic row ensued between them.
Ms Wanjiku, a mother of five, received a call from her husband,
identified as John Gichere, Monday inviting her to his house, a request
she agreed to thinking her husband was unwell.
However, things turned ugly as she discovered that her husband had a
deliberate intention of hurting her since he knew he had another woman
in the house.
She says upon reaching home, she found the suspect and a woman in the act.
After a brief conversation with the suspect, the victim walked
away. However before she could reach far, her husband allegedly attacked
her with a machete, inflicting deep wounds on her head and legs.
The victim screamed, attracting neighbours who came to her rescue.
The suspect, however, managed to escape to an unknown destination.
The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Confirming the incident on phone Chania Sub Location Chief, Daniel Mwaniki, said they had recorded a statement with the police.
Mr Mwaniki says police have launched investigations.
