In this shocking story, a 50-year-old man has poisoned himself after allegedly killing his wife, Abena Nkrumah at Assin Kwansakrom in the Assin South District of the Central Region, Ghana.

 

According to Adom Online, the man identified as Kwaku Atta is said to have killed the wife following her decision to divorce him.

 

Revealing details of the incident, the Police Commander of Assin Damang, ASP Okyere Andam said the wife, Abena, 38, left her marital home to stay with her aunt, due to maltreatment meted out to her by the husband.

It was also gathered that before the murder, the couple have been arguing frequently. But shortly after family members settled the issue, Kwaku Atta who was angry over his wife's decision to divorce him lured her to the farm where he butchered her to death.

 

After the act Kwaku Atta drank some substance believed to be poison and also died. Meanwhile their bodies have been deposited at Abura Dunkwah government hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
