Clinton is again Acquitted in Email Server Investigation

FBI Director James Comey said the FBI stands by its original decision on its email investigation of Hillary Clinton following a review of newly-discovered emails.

 

Comey wrote in a letter to Congress that the FBI had no reason to change its previous conclusion from its earlier investigation.
"Since my letter, the FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails from a device obtained in connection with an unrelated criminal investigation," Comey wrote today. "During that process we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State.
"Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton," he wrote.
In July, the FBI found that no charges were necessary against Clinton for using a private server when she was secretary of state.

New emails surfaced when a hard drive was pulled from a laptop used by Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s estranged husband Anthony Weiner. Weiner is under investigation for allegedly sexting with a minor.
According to reports, the new batch of emails was reportedly duplicates that the FBI had already reviewed.
"We were always confident nothing would cause the July decision to be revisited," Clinton Spokesman Brian Fallon tweeted. "Now Director Comey has confirmed it."
Comey, however, is facing criticism for notifying Congress of the FBI’s decision just days before the election.
