Clinton Maintains Slight Lead in Polls Day before Election

Election Day is only one day away, and most polls are showing Hillary Clinton with a slight lead over Donald Trump, although the gap seems to be closing.

 

MSNBC reports that Clinton has a national average of three points advantage over Trump. The latest ndividual polls were as follows:

• NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll shows Clinton with a six-point lead over Trump
• The Washington Post/ABC News polls shows Clinton with a four-point lead over Trump
• Bloomberg Politics polls shows Clinton with a three-point lead over Trump
• CBS News poll shows Clinton up by four over Trump
• Fox News poll shows Clinton leading by two points

It is significant to note that all of these polls were taken before the news broke that FBI director James Comey again cleared Clinton of any charges in the email server investigation.
However, conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer says this verdict will likely have little impact on the election since it comes so soon before Election Day.
As far as individual states go, Clinton is up in some battleground states, but polls show that Trump may also win states that normally go blue.

States such as North Carolina, Florida, Ohio,and Pennsylvania are leaning slightly toward Clinton, but could end up going red.
Some political commentators have even speculated that states such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Virginia, which are even more firmly blue states, could go red this election.
Currently, Clinton and Trump are tied in North Carolina, Clinton is up by one point in Florida and Ohio respectively, and Clinton has a four-point lead in Pennsylvania. In Iowa on the other hand, where President Obama won in 2008 and 2012, Trump currently holds a seven-point lead.
