A
former National Youth Service Corps member has been rewarded immensely
by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State after he rode a bicycle from Oyo
State to Makurdi.

Isaac Sekav Ahungwa, a graduate of Statistics from Federal
University of Agriculture, Makurdi, who had embarked on a 14-day bicycle
ride from Oyo State to Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on completion
of his NYSC, has been offered automatic employment by Governor Samuel
Ortom of Benue State.
According to a report by Punch Metro, the governor who received the
former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, that presented him
his discharge certificate at the Benue Peoples House in Makurdi on
Monday, described the young man as a determined son of the state whose
example should be emulated by others.
Ahungwa, said at the start of the “Patriotic Tour” on the November
5th, that the ride would show that Nigerians can only overcome
recession with hard work, belief, perseverance, and determination.
He disclosed further that Governor Ortom’s life story inspired him
to embark on the patriotism tour, riding a bicycle from Ibadan to Benue
State, and commended governor for his efforts in addressing the
challenges of development confronting the state despite the harsh
economy.
