Minister of Transport during the Jonathan administration and his
supporters have announced their defection from PDP to APC.

A former Minister of Transportation, Idris Umar, who served during
the Goodluck Jonathan's administration, and his supporters over the
weekend, announced their defection from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Umar who formally announced his defection to APC at his hometown in
Dadin Kowa, Yamaltu/Deba local government of Gombe State, said;
“After several deliberations and consultations, we decided to
join the APC, in other to join our friends and brothers who have gone
before us, to revive the political glory of our state, and bring about
massive development,” he said.
According to some online reports, Umar who was one of the founding
leaders of PDP in Gombe state, is allegedly planning to run for governor
of Gombe State in 2019 under APC.
