It
was a rowdy session at the Senate today as two senators engaged in a
shouting match over the procedures for the confirmation of the EFCC
acting chairman.

The plan to conduct the screening of the Ibrahim Magu, Acting
Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today caused
confusion at the Senate, Punch reports.
It was gathered that some of the principal officers of the senate
were engaged in a shouting match over disagreement concerning the
confirmation of Magu.
The report gathered that the usual pre-session meeting of the
principal officers, which holds at the Senate President’s office, was
rowdy this morning as senators were said to have engaged themselves in a
shouting match.
An eyewitness revealed that the clash was between the Leader of the
Senate, Senator Ali Ndume and Senator Dino Melaye who was alleged to be
against Magu’s confirmation, as they engaged themselves at the meeting.
Although the screening had been listed on the Order Paper as part
of activities at the chamber today, it is uncertain if the exercise will
hold due to the latest development.
