President
Adama Barrow of Gambia has arrived in his country, weeks after fleeing
over the refusal of Yahya Jammeh to cede power.
According to photos released online, the new Gambian President,
Adama Barrow has just landed in Banjul as he returned to his home
country to assume power, days after his predecessor, Yahya Jammeh went
on exile to Equatorial Guinea.
The President who has been in neighbouring Senegal after winning
elections in December, landed safely after touching down at Banjul
airport where jubilant crowds waited to welcome him, tweeted: "I'm finally home #Gambia."
