A
gunman has caused serious commotion at a wedding ceremony after
storming the venue to open fire on the many guests in attendance.
The couple were having their wedding when the shooting occurred
A viral video has shown the moment a suspected hitman nonchalantly
walked down the aisle behind the bride and groom at a Brazilian wedding
before proceeding to pull a gun from his waistband and firing shots.
According to Dailymail UK, the alleged assassin, identified as Betinho, opened fire at guests at the ceremony inside a church in Limoeiro de Anadia.
He is thought to have been plotting to take out a father and son at the wedding who were due to serve as witnesses.
Video footage from the ceremony captures the soon-to-be happy couple walking towards the front of the church in Alagoas, Brazil.
The overweight man, dressed shabbily in a striped polo shirt and
jeans strolls behind them and looks as though he is getting ready to
take his place on a pew in the second row.
The gunman caused commotion with his shooting
He then clumsily takes out his gun and starts unloading, causing a frenzy inside the church.
Amid the fracas, the camera pans up to the ceiling, but the chaos can be heard through the microphone.
When the lens refocuses, guests can be seen rushing towards the
front of the church where the man identified as Betinho had been
aiming.
The bungling assassin targeted CĂcero Barbosa da Silva, 62, and his
son Edmilson Bezerra da Silva, 37, but they are in a stable condition,
according to Miscopy.
They were taken to Agreste Emergency Unit in Arapiraca and received treatment for injuries, according to Dr Daniel Houly.
It was reported the ceremony continued after the incident and that
the shooting was a possible revenge attack due to the suspect's son
being killed recently.
The attempted assassin fled the scene and a police search turned up no leads.
