President-elect has dared the country's sitting president, Yahya
Jammeh, to go ahead with his inauguration today at the Gambian Embassy
in Dakar.
As the political impasse in Gambia sparked by President Yahya
Jammeh’s refusal to step down after he lost in the nation's presidential
election continues, the president-elect, Adama Barrow, has revealed
that his inauguration will surely take place today.
According to some tweets posted on socal media by Adama Barrow, he
wants to go ahead with his inauguration on Thursday at the Gambian
Embassy in Dakar, Senegal despite President Jammeh's three-month state
of emergency which was declared on Tuesday starting from January 17 to
April 17, 2017.
