Nigerians have rejected the support of Governor Ayodele Fayose for the proposed national protest as an urgent call to arrest the economic quagmire in Nigeria.

People's Democratic Party chieftain, Governor Ayodele Peter Fayose of Ekiti State has been whitewashed on Twitter after lending his voice to the national protest organised legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia aka 2Face or 2Baba.

The staunch critic of President Muhammadu Buhari's All Progressives Congress-led administration yesterday took to his social media page to announce his support for the protest scheduled for the 6th of February, 2017.

Fayose claims Nigeria should be rescued from dictatorship and nepotism. The tides turned against him when his followers accused his party, PDP of being part of the current rot in Nigeria after its 16-year rulership.

Also, EiENigeria, a coalition of young Nigerians promoting good governance and citizen engagement attacked Fayose. They accused him of lack of transparency in the running of Ekiti State, high government cost as well as non payment of the salaries of civil servants thereby plunging them into deeper hardship in the face of economic recession.
