The
Nigerian polity is currently heating up as protesters from some
geopolitical zones mount intense pressure on President Muhammadu Buhari
to fulfill his 2015 election campaign promises to the people.
The #IStandWithNigeria nationwide protest progressed peacefully in
Uyo, Akwa Ibom with a sizeable group of young protesters trooping out to
flaunt their anti-government placards.
According to reports, the protest began at the Ibom Plaza at the
state capital before progressing to other areas. This took place
simultaneously with other protests in Abuja and Lagos State.
The protesters were seen urging President Buhari to tighten up his
seat belt as he pilots the course of Nigeria. A random-sample of the
messages on the placards indicate a loss of faith in the current
administration of the All Progressives Congress.
